*Brita was 16, at an age when young people are concerned with trying to define their futures, she was being offered multiple elite scholarships, including one to her dream school. It was in this season of decision-making that God clearly spoke and called her to lay those things down. What the world saw as the ultimate security for her future, God instructed her to walk away from.

The coming years weren’t easy. Yet, today Brita recognizes that the youth discipleship courses offered as a primary factor in staying on track to focus her attention on the things of God and growing her faith as she came into adulthood.

It wasn’t long after high school graduation that God’s call on her life began to show fruitfulness – fruitfulness that many ministers wish they could claim. She stepped out in faith to partner with local high school students to start and lead “Jesus Clubs” in six schools. By the second year, these clubs boasted more than 800 students attending each week, with over 1000 salvations!

Brita didn’t think that laying down her life was a guarantee of anything, she just knew it was what Jesus called her to do. Nevertheless, she confidently would tell anyone that her decision resulted in greater joy and peace in her life and fruit for eternity. In her words, “Jesus is worth it.”
