TEN COMMANDS OF JESUS
(A Jesus Disciple Resource)

“If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” – Jesus
John 14:15
Commandment #9:  GIVE

Remember:
  • Repent of any sin and keep following Jesus.
  • Be baptized in water and baptize others who will follow Jesus.
  • Stay filled with the Holy Spirit.
  • Pray every day.
  • Hear and obey God’s Word every day.
  • Gather with believers each week.
  • Love God and love people.
  • Regularly receive the Lord’s Supper with other believers.

Read: Mark 12:41–44 & Luke 6:38

Discuss:
  • What things did Jesus notice about the offerings being given to God at the Temple treasury? Do you think He notices how people give in churches today?
  • Who did Jesus say gave the most, and why?
  • In Luke 6:38, what does Jesus say will happen when we give?
  • Beginning with “good measure,” what does each phrase mean?
  • Who should we give to first, and how? (See Proverbs 3:9–10)
  • Who else should we give to? (see Proverbs 19:17)

Respond:
  • What do I need to do this week to obey this command?
  • Who will I teach Jesus’ commandments to this week?

Obey:
  • Give to God and to those in need.
