Commandment #5:  HEAR & OBEY THE WORD

Remember:

• Repent of any sin and keep following Jesus.
• Be baptized in water and baptize others who will follow Jesus.
• Stay filled with the Holy Spirit.
• Pray every day.

Discuss:

• What do we need to hear from Jesus so we can obey and be like the man who built a solid house?
• What does Jesus mean by “My words (or sayings),” and where can we find them? (see 2 Timothy 3:16–17)
• Is this command a one-time event or a repeated process? How often should we come to hear His words? (see Psalm 1:1–3)
• What results did Jesus promise to those who obey this command? (see also John 8:31–32)
• How would obeying this command help our prayers? (see John 15:7)
